From the cradle to the conference table; two business prodigies become industry innovators in the custom apparel business.
In their early beginning, Raw Talent Inc.'s founders Cody Murray (President/CEO) and Corey Bramlett (VP/COO/CFO) began their careers in the apparel industry in 1997 as outside sales reps for an international menswear line based out of GA. While still in their late-teens, using the knowledge and skills they've quickly developed, the two created Raw Talent Inc. in 1998. The company was to act as a parent company to control the subsidiary fashion line which were designed and manufactured by Cody and Corey. The line was marketed and sold by the two internationally including attending the acclaimed Magic International Apparel Show in Las Vegas. Feeling pressure from the highly-invested competition, the two decided to drop the line and remain a sales and marketing firm.
Murray & Associates was formed in 1999 as a division of Raw Talent Inc. Murray & Asso.; whose home office was based out of Winder, GA (a suburb of Atlanta), carried multiple men's and women's lines. Aside from marketing and selling the lines internationally, the team also traveled nationwide attending many of the industries tradeshows. It was in the year 2000 that Raw Talent began doing intensive research into the otherwise unrelated field of advertising specialties/promotional apparel. After a full two years of market research, Cody and Corey believed they could fulfill a niche in the "style-lagging" promotional apparel business.
Thus, in early 2002 Raw Talent Inc. became a full service custom apparel company. When asked, "How did Raw Talent reach the level it is today so quickly?" Corey replied, "You must be unique. We have accomplished being at the level that we are at by doing the most basic of business strategies. This includes: proper budgeting /spending, good planning, new concepts, fresh ideas, quality product, aggressive selling, and customer satisfaction." Raw Talent Inc. is currently working with several nationwide accounts including Disney, Sea World, and The LA Times. When asked, "How have you kept your edge over competitors fresh?" CEO Cody Murray replied, "By thinking out-of-the box and being unique. We have an actual background in the fashion business. That gives the ability to bring that to the table and offer expertise in product selection, fabric, color, style, marketing, and merchandising. We offer only the best quality, best service, competitive pricing, and very fast turn around times which many competitors can't even touch. We also keep an edge by offering an e-commerce, online-fulfillment program as well as ongoing market research. Do to the changes in our economy; many companies are looking for fresh ideas. Raw Talent Inc. is here to fill that void." Raw Talent's corporate structure is unique in the industry. Cody and Corey feel they will never have employees; only co-workers. They feel everyone within the company is an equal asset. At Raw Talent, it is a very casual, family-like atmosphere. They differ from everyone else in the business in the fact that they are young, intelligent, and very aggressive. By being somewhat out-of-the-box, they are able to fulfill a much needed niche in their market.
Plans for the near future include implementing a nationwide sales/customer service force to better serve their national accounts. Also, there are plans already in the works to create a fashion-forward menswear line directed solely towards the imprinted sportswear/wearables market.
With revenue and earnings expected to exceed that of 2002 by over 200%, Raw Talent Inc. is quickly rising to the top of the custom apparel business. Raw Talent is defiantly representing their slogan to the fullest. Raw Talent is "The future of custom apparel".
